Marengo Community High School District 154 issued the following announcement on Sept. 11.
We will be celebrating 100 years of Marengo vs. Harvard football on Friday, October 4th, 2019 at Marengo Community High School.
The 100th match up will coincide with the First National Challenge, a Marengo and Harvard Booster Club annual fundraising event. In addition, it will be homecoming for Marengo.
The High Schools and Boosters Clubs would like to invite all former football players and coaches to help us celebrate this milestone, having them take part in the “parade of athletes” and be recognized together as part of this long history/rivalry in football for the schools.
Tickets to the First National Challenge event are $10, and include entrance to the game and a pork chop sandwich meal. Advance tickets (recommended) can be purchased at Marengo and Harvard High School Athletic Offices, as well as First National Bank locations in Marengo and Harvard.
The “parade of athletes” and recognition will take place immediately following the sophomore game. Frosh/Soph game- 5PM; Varsity game- 7PM.
