Illinois state Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) is slated to host a free seminar on Oct. 10 for residents of his 66th District detailing how their property taxes are determined and how they can take steps to appeal any assessments.
The 90-minute event kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Cosman Theater in Huntley and Skillicorn will be joined by McHenry County Chief Assessment Officer Robert Ross and Naperville Township Assessor Warren L. Dixon III.
“It is my pleasure to assemble these tax-assessment experts for this second annual event to explain how tax bills are created and outline the process to follow if a taxpayer believes they are being over-assessed,” Skillicorn, who is encouraging all district residents to attend, said in a press release.
Skillicorn has served in Springfield since 2017 and his 66th District includes parts of Algonquin, Crystal Lake, East and West Dundee, Elgin, Gilberts, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Lakewood and Sleepy Hollow.
