CRYSTAL LAKE PARK DISTRICT: Enrolling Now for Crystal Lake Park District Hot Shots Youth Athletic Programs

Crystal Lake Park District issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.

The Crystal Lake Park District has selected Hot Shots Sports to provide coaches and instruction for a full calendar of winter/spring youth athletic opportunities for kids ages 2-7. A complete list of class info and link to online registration can be found on pages 35-36 of the Winter-Spring Digital Activity Guide at crystallakeparks.org. For more information on Crystal Lake Park District Hot Shots classes, contact Heidi Stolt at (815) 459-0680, ext. 1213, hstolt@crystallakeparks.org. Advance registration is required for all classes.

Hot Shots Sports Adult/Tot Sports

Ages 2-3, 6 Classes

Parents are an integral part of helping their tots develop basic sports movement and motor skills. Motor skill activities focus on hand/eye and hand/foot coordination. Sports equipment and instruction are provided to help guide your child through an introduction to organized sports. Parents or caregiver participation is required.

Hot Shot Sports Adult/Tot Ninja Warriors

Ages 2-3, 6 Classes

Leap, hop, skip and run your way through obstacles and put your Ninja skills to the test. Parents and tots will have fun in this movement based class that will challenge your Ninja to maneuver over and under objects. We will also play many large group games to further challenge their Ninja skills. Parent or caregiver participation is required.

Hot Shots Sports Adult/Tot Basketball

Ages 2-3, 6 Classes

Young children develop motor skills while having fun running and ball handling. Parents and tots work together in this class, learning the basics of basketball. Dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork will all be emphasized. A variety of activities will be played each week.

Hot Shots Sports Adult/Tot Soccer

Ages 2-3, 6 Classes

Young children develop motor skills while having fun running and kicking. Parents and tots work together in this class, learning the basics of soccer. Dribbling, passing, shooting and kicking will all be emphasized. A variety of activities will be played each week.

Hot Shots Sports Lil Dribblers

The Lil Dribblers Basketball program introduces children to the game of basketball in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age appropriate activities and games specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand eye coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

Hot Shot Sports Ninja Warriors

Ages 4-6, 6 Classes

Hot Shots Sports Total Sports

Ages 4-6, 6 Classes

Children are introduced to the fundamentals of sports including basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, t-ball and other sports and group games. The program provides an opportunity for each child to develop motor skills and nurture his/her growth socially and emotionally through teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Hot Shots Sports Pee Wee Soccer

Ages 4-5, 6 Classes

The younger player develops their soccer skills and also gains confidence, coordination, communication and motor skills. The program uses age appropriate drills and exercises to teach players kicking, ball control, dribbling and shooting.

Hot Shots Sports Jr Soccer

Ages 6-7, 6 Classes

Players are introduced to the fundamentals of soccer tactics such as passing the ball, offensive moves, defensive moves, keeping/controlling the ball and taking the ball away from the opposing team. Players learn to score and prevent goals. Physical endurance and fitness are emphasized while touching the ball. At this age, the focus starts to change from simple games to organized, tactical, competitive games.
