Technology and Parenting: Why Our Kids Are Growing Up Differently
February 4, 2020; 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Join us for our second Parent University event of the 2019-20 school year! Prairie Ridge High School counselor Missy Berg will discuss how technology and parenting strategies are affecting our kids' generation, known as Generation Z or iGen. Parents will learn how to help their children develop healthy peer and adult relationships, improve communication, cope and manage emotions, and increase self-efficacy/confidence.
This is a free event for ALL District 47 parents. The presentation will be available in both English and Spanish. Childcare/kids’ activities will be provided for kids ages 3 and up by licensed District 47 staff. Children must be toilet-trained. About the presenter:
Missy Berg, LCPC, has been a counselor at Prairie Ridge High School for the past 13 years and was a counselor at Mundelein High School before coming to District 155. Prior to being a high school counselor, Mrs. Berg worked in community mental health at a behavioral health hospital and in private practice. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Hope College and a master's degree in counseling from Indiana University.
