Marengo Community High School District 154 issued the following announcement on June 17.
Marengo High School has had a tremendous response to our summer behind the wheel sign up process. We want to emphasize that ONLY those students who currently have a permit in hand may sign up for summer behind the wheel sessions. If you do not have your permit, you cannot take behind the wheel instruction at this time.
For those students with a permit application, you may turn it in at the school with a $20 check written out to the Secretary of State. Mr. Halverson will continue to pick up completed applications and checks from the school and bring them to the DMV for expedited processing. Due to the overwhelming amount of work that the DMV is experiencing right now, we cannot tell you when your student’s permit will be completed and ready for pick up from the school. Mr. Halverson will, and has been, doing his best. At this time, we do not know if there will be a 2nd sign up for behind the wheel instruction before school begins in the fall.
