McHENRY COUNTY: MCDH Encourages Families to Keep Children's Immunizations Up To Date

Child vaccination immunization

City of McHenry issued the following announcement on June 19.

While we encourage everyone to be up to date on their vaccines, we strongly encourage families to keep their children on the recommend immunization schedule, which includes the school requirements. There is no need to wait until the end of the summer to have their immunizations completed and up to date!

In our efforts to safely serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic we are currently offering immunization clinics at the 2200 N. Seminary, Woodstock location, on Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment only.

In order to keep our staff and other clients safe we are asking that you show up to your appointment on time, not early, nor late. This is in an effort to decrease the amount of people in the waiting rooms and common areas, and allowing time for areas to be cleaned in between clients. Once you arrive, please remain in your car and call 815-334-5109 to inform us of your arrival and to receive further instructions.

If you arrive early, you will be asked to remain in your car until your appointment time. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to see you for the appointment.

Everyone over the age of 2 years is required to wear a face mask. Only one adult will be permitted per child, and only those children who are scheduled to be seen in the clinic. Everyone will be screened upon entering the building. If anyone has symptoms (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat muscle or body aches) they will be asked to leave, and reschedule their appointment time. If you have symptoms, please do not come, call 815-334-4500 to reschedule the appointment.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. While these precautions can seem like an inconvenience, it is a privilege and benefit that we can offer you and your family to ensure we are making every effort to decrease the risk of any exposure. We are instilling these procedures so that we can provide you peace of mind, knowing we are keeping you and your loved ones safe.

We will keep this site updated with info of clinic dates/times and any changes that occur.

Please call 815-334-4500 to schedule your appointment.
