Analysis: Crystal Lake pays $2.75 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Crystal Lake Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.3 percent of the $2,193,022 the Crystal Lake Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.75 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Crystal Lake contributed $1,608,539 to the fund, which saw a $42,641 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $584,464, or 26.7 percent, in 2018. Another $19 came from other unspecified sources.
