Analysis: Cary pays $3.54 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Cary Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.8 percent of the $1,036,715 the Cary Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.54 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Cary contributed $806,626 to the fund, which saw a $97,268 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $227,763, or 22 percent, in 2018. Another $2,326 came from other unspecified sources.
