Huntley Community School District 158 issued the following announcement on July 6.
Huntley 158 families,
As you likely know, the State of Illinois has issued guidelines regarding the re-opening of schools in Fall 2020. The State’s guidance, issued on June 23, urges that “in-person instruction is strongly encouraged” while the State is in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.
Therefore, the District will aim to maximize the ability of students to attend school in-person while keeping safety at the forefront of our decision making. However, we also understand that many families have concerns and medical considerations regarding in-person attendance.
Our planning groups have been working since before the end of last school year to create a plan to provide the best possible education for students while maintaining safety for students, staff, and the community. Your input is vital to our understanding of the needs of our community as we finalize our plans for the fall.
After incorporating your input as well as that of our staff, State officials, and public health experts, we hope to release a comprehensive plan to the public soon. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/158rts1.
You need fill out the survey only once for your family, regardless of the number of children you have attending school in the fall. As an incentive and thank you for your participation, you will have the option of entering contact information at the end of the survey to be entered into a drawing for one of three gift cards to local businesses.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Scott Rowe, Ed.D
Superintendent
