III. ENTER CLOSED SESSION

"I move to adjourn to closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. However, a meeting to consider an increase in compensation to a specific employee of a public body that is subject to the Local Government Wage Increase Transparency Act may not be closed and shall be open to the public and posted and held in accordance with this Act. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), amended by P.A. 101-459, and collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)."

A member of the District 50 administrative staff will follow up within 48 hours of this meeting to determine if you would like to discuss the issue further. In the interest of time, we ask that you keep your comments brief and limit them to five minutes.

Since our board meetings are recorded for re-broadcast to the public, your comments will be recorded as well. We ask that you keep your comments civil and professional. We reserve the right to stop anyone who does not comply with this request. If you are interested in making a comment, please raise your hand. When called on to speak, please give your name. X. CONSENT AGENDA

SUPERINTENDENT RECOMMENDATION: "I move to approve the following consent agenda reports, Budget Activity Report, Bills Payable Fund Summary, Bills Payable List, Insurance Cafeteria Report, Accounts Payable Report, Resolutions Authorizing Sale of Personal Property, and the Personnel Report, as presented."

Discussion: It was determined that the Marriott San Juan hotel room charge would be pulled and presented for approval at the next Board meeting.

A. IESA Registration Junior High

SUPERINTENDENT RECOMMENDATION: "I move to renew Harvard Junior High School's IESA Registrations for the 2020-21 school year, as presented."

B. 2020-21 Student Registration

SUPERINTENDENT RECOMMENDATION: "I move to approve the 2020-21 Student Registration Fees, as presented."

Discussion: 2020-21 Student Registration Fees motion was approved, as amended, to reflect that School registration fees, AP test fees, and all extra-curricular fees for sports and activities will be waived, and that Spring Activity Fees would be reimbursed.

C. Coding Computer Science Project

SUPERINTENDENT RECOMMENDATION: "I move to approve the Harvard CUSD50

enhancement to the robotics and computer science curriculum and related costs, as presented."

XIII. FOIA REQUESTS

On April 6, 2020, FOIA Officer Toni Harmon received from Jen Weeks, SMART Local 265, a request for invoices, names and contact information of contractors and/or sub-contractors that have been awarded and/or assigned work to be performed at any location owned, rented or leased by your taxing body over the past 12 months, which include the following scope: HVAC (heating, air conditioning, ventilation), Exhaust systems, HVAC maintenance work and/or maintenance agreements, Architectural metals, used for weatherproofing and/or ornamental purposes, New installation and/or replacement of lockers, and/or Kitchen Renovations. On April 14, 2020, Toni Harmon electronically forwarded the requested information.

Dr. Tafoya was happy to report that the 35,000th meal will be delivered Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Dr. Tafoya wanted to thank the 2020 Harvard CUSD50 retirees for the significant contributions they have made to the District.

The High School Restroom project is about to begin.

1,115 students signed up for the summer programs offered by D50. Dr. Tafoya thanked all who worked so hard to prepare these programs.

What does next fall look like? There are more questions than answers, but we will make the best of the answers we receive.

It was noted that Registration will begin in June.

Thank you to Sean Huffstutler and his team for doing an amazing job keeping the buildings and grounds safe and clean.
