Illinois State House District 88 issued the following announcement on Aug. 18.
State Representative Keith Sommer (R-Mackinaw) has been named a “Champion of Free Enterprise” by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce for, “special contributions to the defense of free enterprise, and the furtherance of economic opportunities for Illinoisans.”
“It is a great honor to receive this recognition from the Chamber, which represents so many of the small businesses and job creators who make Illinois’ economy work,” Sommer said.
The Chamber rates all 177 members of the General Assembly for each two-year period and the award is then presented to those legislators who compile voting records most favorable to job creation and economic development in Illinois.
