Q1 2020 Recap: Parolees in McHenry County convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in McHenry County during the first quarter of 2020, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McHenry Times.

The data shows that a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 45. The younger parolee was a 39-year-old woman sentenced in 1999, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 1994.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jerome L. Vonner. He was convicted in 1994 when he was 24 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
