McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
By December 31, 2020, every employer in the State of Illinois is required to provide sexual harassment prevention training that complies with Section 2-109 of the Illinois Human Rights Act ("IHRA").
To help local employers meet this requirement, the McHenry County College Workforce Training Program is offering three training sessions of Creating a Respectful Work Environment: Sexual Harassment Prevention Workshop. The course will be offered Friday, November 13 from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Course Code: NTE S01 001) and again from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. (Course Code: NTE S01 002) as well as Tuesday, November 17 from 10:30 a.m. – Noon (Course Code: NTE S01 003).
Taught in a remote format, the 90-minute interactive training session includes an overview of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment; review of Illinois laws, legal protection, and policy; types of discrimination; examples of conduct that constitutes unlawful sexual harassment; roles and responsibility; and the benefits of a respectful work environment.
The course costs $69 per person and includes a certificate of completion. Registered participants will receive the course link via email at least 24 hours prior to class.
