Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 recently issued the following announcement.

We are currently preparing for 8th grade honors night. While this will look different than in the past due to the pandemic, we are happy to announce that 8th grade parents/guardians will be provided with several options for celebrating this important milestone in their student’s academic career. 

• Option 1: An outdoor ceremony at a District 155 high school; 
• Option 2: A walk-through ceremony at each middle school; or
• Option 3: No in-person event; students’ certificate and any recognitions/awards will be mailed to the home address on file. 

Options 1 and 2 will include the distribution of completion certificates as well as awards and recognitions. Events will adhere to group size restrictions, social distancing and other mitigation measures in place at the time of the event. Dates and times and other details (ex: # tickets) have not yet been determined, as this will depend, in part, on the number of families selecting each option. 

Please indicate your 8th grade honors night preference by choosing one of the three options stated above and submitting this brief survey. The survey will be open until 5pm on Friday, March 19. Your submission will serve as your choice. Responses received will help determine next steps, such as dates and times for both events. Note: Families who do not complete the survey will default to Option 3; student completion certificates and any recognitions/awards will be mailed to the home address on file at the end of the year.
