CRYSTAL LAKE PARK DISTRICT: New Exhibit Opens at Colonel Palmer House on Sat, April 10

Crystal Lake Park District issued the following announcement on Apr 5.

On Saturday, April 10 a new exhibit opens to the public at Colonel Palmer House. Take a trip back through the decades as we ‘Celebrate a Century’ with the Crystal Lake Park District at the Colonel Palmer House.  Stroll through the exhibits inside the historic home and learn about the history of baseball, water sports, the Nature Center, the ice harvesting industry and much more.

Hours:

Thursdays and Fridays 11 AM – 5 PM

Saturdays 10 AM – 4 PM

To arrange for a special visit or tour of the Colonel Palmer House (non-research), call 815/477-5873. Admission is free, donations appreciated.

The Colonel Palmer House was built c.1858 by settlers Gustavus and Henrietta Palmer. Located on its original site, the home was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Currently the home is maintained by the Crystal Lake Park District and is home to the Crystal Lake Historical Society.
