State Senator Craig Wilcox | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Craig Wilcox is collaborating with the Illinois Treasurer’s Office to assist residents of the 32nd Senate District in discovering unclaimed property and cash totaling over $5 billion. The event will take place on Thursday, June 26, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Fox Lake District Library. Attendees can meet with a counselor from the Treasurer’s Office to determine if they have any unclaimed items.
Senator Wilcox emphasized the success of these efforts: “We have had tremendous success in helping people find cash and property they didn’t even know they were owed.” He added that his team has been actively working to connect constituents with their unclaimed assets, resulting in more than $3.4 million being returned to residents of the 32nd District over recent years.
The event aims to reunite individuals with inheritance money or funds from forgotten bank accounts. “Right now, the state could be holding inheritance money or funds from a forgotten bank account that belongs to you,” Wilcox stated. He encouraged potential claimants by saying, “Don’t let it go to waste. Stop by to see if you are owed money and claim what belongs to you.”
