How long did Hebron inventors wait for patents granted in week ending Aug. 7?

Patent 2

The longest time between a patent being filed and granted in the week ending Aug. 7 in Hebron was 1,138 days, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent application was filed by The C. W. Zumbiel Company for a creasing rule for paperboard blanks. It was filed on June 22, 2018 before being approved on Aug. 3, 2021.

Though patents are required for inventions and products, the granting of a patent is not a guarantee for success. Dennis Crouch, co-director of the Center for Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship said roughly 50 percent of patents expire prematurely due to costs.

There were six patents granted for Hebron inventors in the week ending Aug. 7.
