Jacobs, Crystal Lake Central, Prairie Ridge, Cary-Grove, Genoa-Kingston, Richmond-Burton advance to IHSA football quarterfinals

Of the 64 teams advancing to the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) quarterfinals Saturday, six are from McHenry County.

In 7A play,  No. 19 Algonquin (Jacobs) (8-3) plays at No. 11 Mt. Prospect (Prospect) (9-2).

6A games will feature No. 12 Crystal Lake (Central) (8-3) at top-seeded Cary (C.-Grove) (11-0) and No. 7 Crystal Lake (Prairie Ridge) (9-2) at No. 6 Lake Forest (H.S.) (9-2).

In 4A, No. 4 Genoa (G.-Kingston) (10-1) plays at #1 Joliet (Catholic Academy) (11-0) and No. 2 Richmond (R.-Burton) (11-0) faces off against No. 6 Chicago (Phillips) (9-2) at Gately Stadium.
