Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that on March 8, 2022, Alan E. Christensen, 25, of  McHenry, Illinois, was sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge. Christensen pleaded guilty to Residential Burglary, a Class 1 Felony.

On April 20, 2021, officers of the Island Lake Police Department responded to a burglary in progress on Island Drive. Although unable to locate anyone in or around the residence, witnesses identified Christensen as the individual who had entered the home and was seen leaving with large duffle bags. Further investigation confirmed that Christensen entered while the resident was not home and took a set of tools and saws belonging to the homeowner.

This case was investigated by Officer Reese of the Island Lake Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Ashur Y. Youash.
