CHICAGO (March 10, 2022) — Proper Title, LLC, one of Illinois’ fastest-growing full-service title insurance agencies serving the residential and commercial real estate industry, has announced the opening of a new office in Crystal Lake, Ill. – marking the company’s first office in McHenry County, its sixth new location in the past two years and the firm’s 13^th closing location.

“Even amid the pandemic, we’ve had an incredible growth trajectory that has seen us nearly double our total number of locations since the start of 2020,” said Kathy Kwak, chief operating officer of Proper Title. “Earlier this year we entered an entirely new market with our first office in Indiana, and it’s exciting to now follow that up with our very first location in McHenry County, which has been a very active area for us over the past two years. Both second-home buyers and those looking for a full-time residence have been drawn to McHenry County with wide open spaces and popular lakeside towns, so we’re eager to welcome the buyers, sellers and attorneys we’ve been working with into our office. This expansion will only add to the high level of service we offer clients, particularly as we head into what is already shaping up to be a very busy spring and summer real estate market.” 

Located at 80 N. Virginia St., the new office is a first-floor space with three large closing rooms as well as open workstations available for attorneys to use between closings. It is situated on a major thoroughfare, providing easy access not only from downtown Crystal Lake, but also neighboring suburbs. 

Working out of the office will be David Zawadzki, vice president of business development, who already has a portfolio of clients in McHenry County and the northwest suburbs. “While the last two years has proven how much of our work can be done digitally, there’s still an advantage to being located close to the attorneys, buyers and sellers we work with – especially as we see a return to pre-pandemic comfort levels for in-person meetings,” said Zawadzki. “I’ve also heard from a number of attorneys who are looking forward to closing with us now that we have an office in McHenry County, so it’s a win-win for everyone – our location will help attorneys hold closings in person, and we can tap into a new pipeline of clients.”  

Also staffing the Crystal Lake office is Dani Jenkins, an account executive who is a first point of contact for clients at the location. She began her career in title insurance as an escrow coordinator with one of Chicago’s largest underwriters before joining Proper Title in 2022 as part of the Crystal Lake team.  

Shortly after its founding in 2013, Proper Title established offices in Chicago’s Loop, Bucktown and Irving Park neighborhoods as well as north and northwest suburbs including Northbrook, Libertyville and Palatine, and soon expanded into suburban Park Ridge and Crystal Lake. Three years ago, Proper Title entered Chicago’s western suburbs with an office in Oak Brook, followed by locations in St. Charles and Naperville. The title insurance agency also recently added offices in Orland Park, Ill., and Schererville, Ind.
