HOMERO ALCARAZ-BELLO SENTENCED TO THIRTEEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State's Attorney, announces that on March 21, 2022, Homero Alcaraz-Bello, 52, was sentenced to thirteen (13) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge. Alcaraz-Bello pleaded guilty to one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class X felony, and one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 felony. Alcaraz-Bello was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

On June 17, 2020, detectives of the Woodstock Police Department responded to a report of sexual abuse made to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Upon further investigation, detectives determined that Alcaraz-Bello had committed sexual acts upon two young girls. The acts committed against the first victim, who has under eighteen years of age at the time, occurred between August of 2000 and August of 2004. The acts committed against the second victim, who was under thirteen years of age at the time, occurred between June of 2014 and June of 2017.

This case was investigated by officers of the Woodstock Police Department. This case was prosecuted

by Assistant State's Attorney Ashur Y. Youash.
