City of McHenry Landmark Commission met May 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to Order: Jeff Varda

Public Comments: Donald P. Doherty Honorary sign NOT to Be Removed from Green and Pearl Street Representing: Colleen Jackson and Cindy Jones Locke

Requesting to Not have the sign removed from the corner of Green Street and Pearl Street.

Public Hearing Regarding the Designation of the Property located at 812 N. Mill Street, McHenry, IL 60050 for Landmark status.

Motion to recommend: Jeff Varda

Old Business:

Green Street Project: Jeff and Zelinda will continue to work on the Gladstones Department Store Bolger's Drug Store Celeste gave her report

Zelinda spoke about our visit to Ignite Medical Resort

Thank you note was sent to Activity Director, Stephanie by Celeste

Need frames and pictures laminated, Tom Hillier offered to laminate.

Petersen Park Farm Project

Spoke about the Horse Barn and wording and the plaquing of Petersen farm

Beth Staley will check the cost with Adams Memorial on Riverside Drive, McHenry

Michelle Petersen representing The Farm Project was in attendance

New Business

Art in the Park

Tent needed possibly to share with Historical Society

Volunteers needed to pass out pamphlets at the band concerts and Farmers market Activities to do at Peterson Farm:

Sheep tending

Beekeeping project

Gardening

4H Club

Horseshoe games
