McHenry Times

There were 33 offenders living in McHenry County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by McHenry Times.

The data shows 29 men and four women were released in McHenry County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2022, and the oldest was a 70-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Karsten Eilersten. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2016 when he was 21 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
