Q2 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from McHenry County convicted of homicide set for release

There were two offenders convicted of homicide living in McHenry County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McHenry Times.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 40. The younger parolee was a 32-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Timothy R. Colby. He was convicted in 2019 when he was 44 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
