State Senators Craig Wilcox and Don DeWitte recently spread love and joy to seniors in nursing homes and assisted living centers by distributing over 9,000 homemade valentines. The deliveries were part of the Senate Republicans' annual Valentines for Seniors program.

In the 32nd District, Senator Wilcox expressed his gratitude towards the community for their overwhelming participation, stating, "We set a new participation record this year in the 32nd District, with close to 5,000 valentines submitted by school, church, scouting, and 4-H groups and by residents who wanted to do their part to make local seniors feel appreciated." He added, "The smiles on the seniors' faces were priceless."

Meanwhile, in the 33rd District, Senator DeWitte and his team collected over 4,000 valentines and personally delivered them to 20 different facilities. He emphasized the significance of the Valentines for Seniors program, saying, "Loneliness can be an issue for seniors, and through our Valentines for Seniors program, they know they are valued and that people are thinking of them."

The Valentines for Seniors program is a statewide initiative that involves all 19 Republican Senators. This year, the program collected and delivered just under 60,000 valentines to seniors across the state, spreading love and warmth to those who may be feeling isolated.

The impact of this program goes beyond the simple act of delivering valentines. It serves as a reminder to seniors that they are cherished members of the community. Senator DeWitte aptly summarized the sentiment behind the initiative, stating, "This is my favorite event of the year, because the community really comes together to make Valentine's Day special for area seniors."

As the Valentines for Seniors program continues to grow each year, it is evident that the community's dedication to supporting and uplifting seniors remains unwavering. Through these small acts of kindness, the program brings joy and happiness to those who need it most.
