On May 22, 2024, Matthew Lorr, aged 35 and formerly of Woodstock, Illinois, was sentenced to 35 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The sentencing follows a negotiated plea for the offenses of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Criminal Sexual Assault.
Lorr pled guilty to charges involving sexual penetration with a child under 13 and another child under 18. Multiple victims reported being sexually assaulted by Lorr, and DNA evidence linked him to the crimes.
"Lorr will have to register as a sex offender for life upon release from the Department of Corrections," stated Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney. Additionally, Lorr is not entitled to day-for-day credit and must serve at least 85% of his sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Sharyl Eisenstein and Maria Marek. Detective Smith of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation.
