The Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced a new initiative aimed at assisting teen drivers during the summer months. The program, titled "Teen Summer DMV Saturdays," is designed to help young drivers reach the milestone of becoming legal Illinois drivers.

The period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is identified as particularly hazardous for teen drivers. The Illinois State Police have emphasized the importance of caution during these months, often referred to as the "100 Deadly Days of Summer."

A spokesperson for the Illinois State Police stated, "Please use caution, slow down, and give ample room for our road builders and police officers."
