State Senator Craig Wilcox is organizing two events in McHenry County to assist motorists in transitioning to the new IPASS sticker system, replacing the existing plastic transponders. The events are being held in collaboration with the Illinois Tollway on October 28 and November 4.

"Officials from the Illinois Tollway will be on hand at both events to help people transfer over to the new sticker technology and ensure people can make the switch without disruption to their IPASS account activity," stated Wilcox. "Along with providing this service, the tollway officials can help people with questions they may have about their IPASS account and with 'Pay by Plate' issues."

The first event, co-sponsored with Senator DeWitte, is scheduled for Monday, October 28, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Algonquin Township Office's Meeting Room #1 located at 3702 Northwest Highway (Rt. 14) in Crystal Lake. The second event will take place on Monday, November 4, from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM at McHenry City Hall situated at 333 South Green Street in McHenry.

Once activated, the new sticker tag can be used on Illinois tollways and E-Z Pass roadways in other states within a day of activation. No deposit is required for obtaining a sticker. Additionally, any $10 transponder deposit previously paid will transfer to the new account upon activation.
