State Senator Craig Wilcox | Illinois General Assembly
Senator Craig Wilcox organized an essay contest inviting students to write about teachers who have significantly impacted their lives. The competition required essays between 250 and 500 words. More than 20 entries were received, and the top three essays are being showcased at the State Capitol from May 5-9 as part of Teacher Appreciation Week.
The winners are Megan Udelhofen, a sixth grader from Northwood Middle School; Morgan Maksimovic, an eighth grader from Stanton Middle School; and Ellen Galli, also an eighth grader from Northwood Middle School. Their winning essays highlight the profound influence their teachers have had on them.
"Congratulations to Megan Udelhofen, Morgan Maksimovic, and Ellen Galli," Senator Wilcox announced in recognition of their achievements.
