State Senator Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) will host an IPASS on Demand event at the Lake Villa District Library on September 17. This follows a previous event in Fox Lake, where nearly 100 constituents received assistance with switching from plastic IPASS transponders to new sticker technology.
“We provided service to nearly 100 constituents in Fox Lake, and those who attended were able to switch out their plastic IPASS transponders for the new sticker technology for no cost,” said Wilcox. “The need for these kinds of events still exists, so I’m bringing the team back to Lake County for a second event this month on Wednesday, the 17th.”
The upcoming event will take place from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the library located at 140 N. Munn Road. Representatives from the Illinois Tollway will assist attendees with transferring to the new sticker tags and answer questions about IPASS accounts and ‘Pay by Plate’ issues.
According to information shared by Wilcox’s office, once activated, the sticker tag can be used on both Illinois tollways and E-Z Pass roadways in other states within a day of activation. There is no deposit required for the new stickers; any previously paid $10 deposit for plastic transponders will transfer over when activating the account.
“Those who plan to attend should bring their plastic transponders inside with them and also make note of their license plate numbers,” added Wilcox. “This will help ensure quick service.”
Wilcox has served as state senator since his election in 2018, representing Illinois’ 32nd Senate District after succeeding Pamela Althoff.
