State Senators Craig Wilcox and Don DeWitte are organizing a Senior Expo in Crystal Lake on October 14. The event will take place at the Crystal Lake Park District’s Grand Oaks Building from 10:00 AM to noon. Admission is free, and refreshments will be available.

Nearly 50 agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations focused on senior needs will participate in the expo. Attendees can visit booths to gather information and learn about available resources.

“We are bringing together close to 50 agencies and organizations that specialize in the needs of seniors, and attendees will be able to collect useful information and learn about available resources while visiting the booths,” said Wilcox. “We will also be offering a variety of free services, so I would encourage all seniors and their families or caregivers to stop by this event.”

Free services at the expo include blood pressure checks, vaccinations provided by Walgreens, switching out plastic IPASS transponders for new sticker technology, searching the Illinois Treasurer’s database for unclaimed cash or property (ICASH), senior living information, transportation services, veteran services, and energy information.

“This senior expo provides an easy way to connect the senior community with essential services and information,” added DeWitte. “Best of all, it’s all under one roof. We are hoping for another huge turnout at this year’s expo.”

Wilcox has represented Illinois’ 32nd Senate District since his election in 2018.
