Several community members spoke out at Fox River Grove's recent Committee of the Whole meeting to express concerns about the town's proposed public works facility expansion.
Concerns primarily were focused on the impact the project would have on neighboring property values and nearby residents' views.
In light of the feedback, the committee requested that a project update be prepared for the next meeting, though it also cautioned residents that the project needed to move forward to keep the village compliant with new EPA standards.
The committee also discussed applying for a Safe Routes to Schools grant that could improve walking access to the middle school. The item was left open for further consideration at future meetings.
Three village committees -- finance, public works, and public health and safety -- make up the Fox River Grove Committee of the Whole. Meetings are held immediately following village board meetings on the first and third Thursdays of every month.
