Village of Richmond's finance committee discusses Tax Levy Ordinance of 2015 at recent meeting.
The Village of Richmond Finance Committee presented information on the Tax Levy Ordinance of 2015 at the Dec. 1 finance committee meeting.
The committee took a look at the 2015 Tax Levy Ordinance, which was voted on by the full board on Dec. 3. The important thing about this year’s budget is that the tax levy was more detailed, as the village attorney requested a more thorough report.
During the meeting, the finance clerk presented an amendment to the budget, as the the house at 10104 Main St. needed demolition. In response, chairman Dennis Bardy asked to have some context and narrative added to the budget, so that the amendment would have more information before it goes to the board. The board will vote on the entire ordinance on Dec. 17.
At the beginning of the meeting, clerk Karla Thomas stated that four surveying companies had been requested to give quotes to survey Memorial Hall. The architect that was hired to improve exterior conditions of Memorial Hall requested to have the property surveyed.
Two bids were received; the other two didn’t respond. The bids were $1,600 and $950.
