The Prairie Grove Village Board approved a 2015 tax levy and discussed a homeowner association's request for decorative signs at its Nov. 17 meeting.
Village trustees voted to approve a tax levy of $365,000. The levy is the same as last year's levy, but the tax rate will decrease by 2.99 percent. Trustee Pratt was the only one to vote against the motion.
Village trustees discussed a request by the Oak Grove Homeowners Association (HOA) for street signs and stop signs. HOA President Mary Koss asked trustees to approve decorative street signs on Braberry Lane and Lakewood Drive as well as two stops signs.
Village Engineer John Ambrose said it would be fine to have the decorative signs, but the stop signs could cause issues, as he said a traffic study would need to be conducted and he didn’t think stop signs would be necessary.
Trustees approved the request for the decorative signs, but the request for the stop signs failed.
