Algonquin grants Starbucks license to serve beer, wine

The Algonquin Liquor Commission voted Nov. 17 to approve a request by the Starbucks store on Algonquin Road for a liquor license to serve beer and wine liquor.

The Starbucks store at 1532 E.Algonquin Road requested a Class F liquor license to sell wine and beer to be consumed on the premises. Under the license, food must be the primary sales item, with the food being cooked on the premises. Wine, beer or entertainment can’t be the main source of sales.

The store submitted all the proper materials, and Starbucks representative Amy Hibbard was at the meeting.

The liquor commission voted approve the license based on evidence presented at the meeting.
