The Algonquin Village Board recently released the minutes of its Dec. 7 committee-of-the-whole during which village trustees advanced a streetscaping improvement agreement between Algonquin and Riverside Plaza.
The agreement would give Algonquin the authority to levy a tax for the next five years to reimburse the village for $350,000 spent on "public right of way and streetscaping improvements" that were made to Riverside Plaza.
Village trustees also recommended approval of an agreement with Sigecom LLC to dig and run fiber optic utility lines through the village's rights of way and easements in order to provide telecommunications services to Village Hall, Public Works and the wastewater treatment facility.
The committee also also advanced a bid of $24,600 for natural deicer made from beet juice and saltwater and advised authorizing agreements with McHenry County for SWAT services and the McHenry County Gang Task Force.
