Lake in the Hills board approves airport improvement program.
The Lake in the Hills board unanimously approved the Airport Transport Transportation Improvement Project at its Nov. 12 meeting.
The project will begin this spring with the demolition and relocation of the airport administration building and four hangers, followed by finishing the relocation of the taxiway this summer. The job was started three years ago and was meant to make the airport FAA compliant by moving the taxiway a safe distance away from the runway.
In the same omnibus vote, the board approved an agreement between the airport and Blue Skies Flying Services and lease agreements with Tom and Linda Bartlett for property at 290 Indian Trail and with Cole and Mary Sandberg for property at 9017 Haligus Road.
Chief of Police Dave Brey also swore in Ryan McDillon as water superintendent for a temporary term that expired at the end of 2015.
