The McHenry City Council is scheduled to discuss the McHenry Sanitary System Improvements Forcemain Extension Project and industrial development revenue bonds at its meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.
The agenda for the meeting includes processing of bills that total $148,582; a request to advertise for janitorial services proposals at the McHenry Recreation Center and to discuss an inducement resolution for the revenue bonds for K&L Equity LLC. and Fabrik Industries Inc.
The council will discuss establishing a selective bid process for the McHenry Sanitary System Improvements Forcemain Extension Project. A bid for the project had been rejected on Aug. 17, 2015, due to its high cost. The city’s primary engineering partner, HR Green, had evaluated the proposed bid and reported that it was triple the established opinion of probable costs. Despite many contractors picking up bidding packages, only one was turned in. The engineer’s opinion of probable costs has been set at $2,241,804. Should this measure be approved by the council, staff will be authorized to establish the selective bid process.
The council also plans to discuss the repair and maintenance of Water Tower No. 3 as was detailed by the McHenry Public Works Commission.
