The Port Barrington Village Board discussed fallen leaves and an environmental audit at its Nov. 4 committee meeting.
Trustees discussed the proper handling of fallen leaves. A courtesy letter was sent to village residents to remind them that leaves should not be swept onto the street due to their ability to clog storm drains. Residents were asked to leave the leaves on the curb.
Trustees were told that the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency was to perform an audit of the village’s storm sewers.
The board postponed a decision on whether to raise pay for village police to $63 per hour.
