The Woodstock Parks and Recreation Commission discussed reviewing its park master plan and purchasing property near Emricson Park during its Oct. 13 meeting.

The commission agreed that members of the staff would take portions of the master plan for review.

The commission focused on the potential purchase of a residential home, saying the city should consider purchases of additional land that would connect this property to Emricson Park. Commissioners recommended that the property be purchased by the city.

A discussion about waiving team fees and the establishment of sponsor banners at Merryman Field for the Avalanche Baseball program was postponed.

The commission also discussed a bicycle trail project that would be located on the northern side of Route 14 that would connect Culvers and the rest of Woodstock.
