Members of McHenry County's Harvard-Woodstock Joint Enterprise Zone will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in Woodstock to discuss the enterprise zone and commercial and economic development.
Harvard and Woodstock initiated the joint program in August. The zone took effect at the beginning of 2016 and can offer tax incentives, relief on certain regulatory measures and enhanced access to government services. The aim of the enterprise zone is to facilitate economic growth and to foster growth in the business environment.
With the program in place, Friday's meeting will focus on the initiation of measures to begin commercial and economic development in both cities. The program also will seek to fill vacant properties suitable for occupation and to increase local employment.
The financial status of the joint program and bills associated with the enterprise zone will also be reviewed.
The meeting will be held in Conference Room B at the Woodstock Administration Building, 667 Ware Rd.
