The Village of Algonquin Department of Public Works issued a bids request for demolition services this week.

The demolitions will take place at the 103 W. Algonquin Garage and 20 S. Harrison Home Bids. According to the announcement, there will be an alternate bid for the demolition of the residential structure, also located at 103 W. Algonquin.

All interested bidders will be required to submit a security bond of five percent of the base bid through a bond or certified check. A bank-issued cashier’s check would also suffice for this requirement. Prospective applicants can receive access to the contractual documents for a deposit amount of $30, which can be mailed for an additional $5. Deposits are not refundable.

Plans are available by email via mweber@algonquin.org. There is no cost associated for plan requests.

The village reserves the right to accept and deny any proposal that is sent in. It will be taking into consideration its own best interests relating to cost and the experience available by bidders in considering bid acceptance.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the William J. Ganek Municipal Center by 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17.
