The Crystal Lake Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Municipal Complex, 100 W. Woodstock St., to discuss details about its upcoming trolley tour for 2016 on Thursday.
The commission offers the annual tours via trolley that focus on the original settlement near Route 14 and Dole Avenue that eventually grew into what the city is today. The tour focuses on key historical families, businesses, churches and other buildings that hold significance for the city.
The 2016 tour is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 12. According to the commission’s website, tours are set to last approximately 45 minutes. Tickets for the tour will be going on sale May, 14 at Heisler’s Bootery.
The trolleys board at the gazebo at 70 E. Woodstock St. in downtown Crystal Lake. Ticket holders will also receive a book consisting of historic photographs and other facts.
The commission also will be reviewing the notes from its Jan. 7 meeting.
