The Lake in the Hills Police Commission will discuss sergeant testing and the applications that have been received at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Entry level eligibility for new police officers will also be discussed. 

Minutes from the commission’s Feb. 2 meeting indicate that testing procedures for sergeants were in the planning stages and that timelines were established for promotion tests with the Police Department. Eligibility tests for those wishing to become officers were also discussed at the Feb. 2 meeting.

The minutes also state that information on sergeant promotions and how the process works and requirements were distributed to current patrol officers on Feb. 16. It was also noted that the COPS organization would be contacted in order for the Police Commission to utilize the organization’s services in developing promotion and testing materials.
