Wonder Lake recently hired two police officers.
Two police officers were hired during the Jan. 6 meeting of the Village of Wonder Lake board of trustees, among other items.
The meeting minutes state that both officers were recommended by the Police Commission. The board approved the hiring for the two officers with all trustee members in attendance voting in favor. Shortly after the vote, both officers were sworn in for service.
The police department also presented information regarding other matters, such as information on daily activity of officers in line with ordinance compliance efforts and an announcement that the Fox Lake Police Department Gun Range has been opened to officers for training and certification purposes. The department noted that it is continuing its work with the village attorney and administration on problematic homes in the village.
In addition, the board approved a resolution that would allow an agreement between the village and Robinson Engineering to move forward. According to the minutes, this agreement is similar to one in place that includes a cost-of-living adjustment during its second year.
Meeting minutes, approvals of invoices and a cash balance report from December were also reviewed and subsequently approved.
