The village board of Wonder Lake held a partial session on Jan. 20 to discuss an abandoned house and other matters.

Village Administrator Steve Weir reported that although the Deep Springs house was demolished, additional work is still needed at the site. This refers to the crawl space on the property needing to be filled and an issue related to spring water on the property that runs into a culvert under a nearby roadway.

Weir also noted in a report that draining the Swale area was halted by weather conditions.

The police department reported that the officers who received training using tasers have been carrying them while on duty. All officers serving with the force carry non-lethal methods of subduing a subject, including tasers or pepper spray.

The two officers that were hired at the beginning of January have been working well within the department. At the time of this meeting, the two officers were in the police department training program.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:22 p.m.
