The Richmond Finance Committee continued the budget development process at its last meeting.
The Village of Richmond Finance Committee continued its discussion of the village budget during its March 8 meeting.
During this meeting, information was presented regarding the 2017 fiscal year budget. The committee is considered the main budget development group in the village. The meeting information website for the Village of Richmond indicates that budget presentations and discussions relating to the development of the village budget began on Feb. 16. It also states that the meeting that was supposed to take place on Feb. 23 was cancelled.
The meeting minutes from the Feb. 2 meeting indicate that it was during this session that the budget development calendar was established -- and that worksheets on the budget will be updated for each meeting.
According to the meeting agenda for this meeting, the minutes from the meeting on March 1 were reviewed by the committee and voted for approval.
During the committee’s previous meeting, the Richmond Police Department presented its proposed budget for the 2017 fiscal year. According to an earlier McHenry Times article, this presentation was an initial proposal, which would be updated as time goes on through the review and development process.
The agenda for the March 15 meeting indicates that additional budget discussions and presentations will continue.
