The village of Algonquin said this week that Southeast Emergency Communications (SEECOM) has achieved certification from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International.
SEECOM, based in Crystal Lake, serves as a communication center for the 911 emergency system and serves 15 agencies in McHenry County, including Crystal Lake, Cary and Algonquin.
SEECOM submitted policy and training documents alongside other supporting material which was reviewed by APCO. APCO said the program was sufficient in providing the necessary training and taking psychomotor skills into consideration.
“I am extremely proud of the hard work and commitment from our training team and staff members. Their efforts solidified this national certification,” SEECOM Executive Director, Jason Kern said.
The certification indicates that the training program of an organization is in line with or goes above and beyond standards that have been established within the American National Standards, developed by APCO.
