Skillicorn wins Republican primary in House District 66
Allen Skillicorn has officially won the Republican primary for a chance to replace state Rep. Mike Tryon in Illinois House District 66.
“My opponents worked their tails off and ran very competitive campaigns, but our message of property tax relief and standing up to (House) Speaker (Michael) Madigan resonated with the voters of McHenry and Kane counties,” Skillicorn said.
The final results of Tuesday's primary were confirmed Thursday. Skillicorn received 31.04 percent of the vote in McHenry County and 32.62 percent of the vote in Kane County. Skillicorn defeated Carolyn Schofield, Dan Wilbrandt and Paul Serwatka.
“Once we have cleaned up all the signs and campaign litter, I will take the fight to Speaker Madigan, who has been crushing our economy and our home values for the past 40 years,” Skillicorn said.
