The Marengo City Council approved a request for a special-use permit to allow the sale of used vehicles at 950 Greenlee St. during its March 14 meeting.
The meeting minutes indicate that the petition had been updated following deliberations between the city and the petitioner. The permit was approved by all members present during the meeting.
The council also discussed amending the city code regarding liquor licenses. The minutes state that the city’s liquor commission will be considering this item further.
The council also discussed a draft budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year, specifically the cemetery fund and potential rate increases for water and sewer funding. It is indicated in the minutes that these items would be discussed in greater detail at a future meeting.
